YouTube Video

The Newfoundland herd of Dexters started with two in 2004 and now numbers 60 beasts.  They are all kept out at grass for as much of the year as possible and being a native breed they are very hardy animals.  The male calves are kept until they are approximately 30 months and then they go for beef this is available, usually in the autum.  Female calves are used to increase the herd and there are now 6 generations on site.
